Sauvignon Blanc (67%) Chardonnay (29%) Chenin Blanc (4%)
Vineyards
The Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc grapes were selected from vineyards between 14 and 19 years in age.
Harvest Date
The Sauvignon Blanc was harvested between 1st and 14th February 2002, the Chardonnay between 21st February and 12th March 2002 and the Chenin Blanc on the 27th February 2002.
Winemaking
The Sauvignon Blanc was tank-fermented to retain the intense varietal character, and blended with tank-fermented Chardonnay that received extended lees contact to create a full fruity wine. A small percentage Chenin Blanc adds complexity.
Tasting Notes
An intriguing blend – grassy, green fig Sauvignon Blanc and zesty, citrus-melon Chardonnay, balanced by a long creamy finish.
