2007 Bradgate Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot
Description
Over a century has passed since Alfred Jordan settled in the Winelands of the Western Cape and named his family home Bradgate. Today, Bradgate Wines are produced by the Jordan Family from classic varieties grown in the Stellenbosch region. The Bradgate range combines the soft, accessible fruit of the New World with the elegance of Classic wine styles, ensuring well-structured wines with a complex concentration of fruit and flavour.
Variety
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (43%), Merlot (41%), and Shiraz (16%).
Vineyards
Harvested from warmer North- and West facing vineyards.
Harvest Date
The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested between 28th February and 16th March 2007.The Merlot was harvested between 15th February and 9th March 2007. The Shiraz was harvested between the 12th - 20th March 2007.
Winemaking
Maturation in new and used French oak barrels for between 12 and 14 months results in a harmonious integration of soft tannins and fruit.
Tasting Notes
Ripe blackberry Cabernet Sauvignon flavours blend easily with the velvety-rich, plummy fruit of the Merlot.Shiraz adds a spicy, red berry complexity.
