Farewell to the World Cup
JORDAN WINE ESTATE SUPPORTED THE 2010 WORLD CUP!
July 2010 saw the end of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Spirits were high during the build-up and South Africans united in pride as our country hosted a stellar tournament.
Many institutions across South Africa joined in the ‘gees’ and provided guests in the country and locals with some interesting winter past-times. Jordan Wine Estate was no different. The wine estate rigged the conference centre into a mini fan-park with big screen broadcasts, super sound and a world of flags. Best Dressed Supporters won 6-packs of wine and those who couldn’t join in the broadcasted games had the opportunity to enter the 2010 Jordan Soccer Challenge. Well done to Kevin Daniel on his victory, your wines will be with you shortly!
The wine estate wasn’t the only group bringing the ‘gees’ on the farm, our Jordan Restaurant with George Jardine, got up to their own tactics. Each broadcasted game was catered for by the restaurant with some quirky dishes such as Sepp Blatter’s Snack Platters and Henry’s Handball Irish Whisky Dom Pedro’s, plus one could enjoy some homemade biltong dubbed, Oom Louis’s Kalahari Gemsbok Biltong, hunted by Louise Jardine’s uncle and made by the Jardine himself, not to mention the super steaks that matched the super atmosphere on the farm.
Yes, we had a ball of a time, enjoyed a lot of good wine and ate seriously, good food. Well done South Africa, WAKA, WAKA, AYOBA and off to Brazil we go!
