Enjoy a perfect day out with our private picnic pods at Jordan Wine Estate! Located on our scenic lawn around our dam, these pods offer stunning views of the Stellenbosch Kloof Valley and the Stellenbosch Mountains, comfortably fitting 2-8 adults.
Indulge in gourmet delights with picnic baskets brimming with exquisite treats from The Cellar Door at Jordan. Each basket is thoughtfully curated, with enough for two people to enjoy a delightful feast amidst stunning natural surroundings.
Picnic collection begins at 12:30 on your booked day, allowing ample time to savour every moment. Your private pod remains exclusively yours until 16:00, ensuring a serene and unforgettable experience. Each pod includes blankets, cushions, an ice bucket, and a picnic basket for two from The Cellar Door at Jordan.
Your pod will be allocated according to the number of guests booked. If you want to request a specific picnic pod, please email reservations@jordanwines.com.
Picnic basket menu:
A selection of wines, beers, soft drinks and hot beverages can be purchased at The Cellar Door on the day when baskets are collected.
Your basket will include a selection of in-house freshly baked breads: gratinated brioche, herbed focaccia, and Cape seed loaf, to accompany locally sourced charcuterie including Ryan Boon selections, as well as locally produced hard and soft cheeses such as Dalewood Camembert and Brie, Klein River Stanford, and De Pekelaar Boerenkaas.
This will be accompanied by Jordan Estate olives and homemade preserves and spreads, including aubergine relish, spiced apple chutney compote, creamy savoury whipped butter, and a labneh cheese with dukkah honey pot.
You will also receive caramelized onion, butternut & thyme tarts with Greek feta, and fresh Vietnamese rice paper rolls filled with free-range chicken, julienne of red and yellow peppers, spring onion, carrot, and red cabbage, served with a sesame, sweet soy, ginger, and coriander dressing.
Enjoy with a pickled vegetable salad.
Last but not least, indulge in the Chef’s patisserie of the day to finish on a sweet note.

Book them each a yummy kiddies picnic for R235.00!
Their basket will include a homemade pizza roll, crumbed chicken strips, a seasonal fruit skewer, and a fruit juice box. Then satisfy their sweet tooth with a S’more! They can enjoy their own basket while colouring in with their very own Jordan colouring kit. Purchase this kiddies basket during the booking process.
We ask all parents to ensure kids are under supervision at all times.

Picnics are weather permitting. The Cellar Door team will contact all guests 48 hours in advance if the weather predicts rain for the next day. Guests will be given the following choices:
• Move picnic to a new date
• Enjoy the basket on the original date at the table inside The Cellar Door
• Change booking to A’la Carte to the value of R734.00
Pods are situated underneath trees and have plenty of shade but be sure to wear sunscreen and bring a hat!
Excluded: Transport to and from the estate. Meals, soft drinks, by-the-bottle purchases, by-the-glass purchases, merchandise.

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for all picnic bookings.
Cancellation policy: The following cancellation fee applies on the full value of the booking:
- If cancelled within 2 days prior to arrival – 0% cancellation fee
- If cancelled within 24 hours of arrival – 50% cancellation fee
- If cancelled on the day of arrival or no show – 100% of cancellation fee
